Bitcoin is the most popular and valuable cryptocurrency because Bitcoin is the most popular and valuable cryptocurrency. When it comes to cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is a pretty unimpressive piece of technology. That's hardly a slam on its creators - they were travelling largely uncharted territory, and it would have been impossible to anticipate every challenge and stumbling block to making cryptocurrency work. But no matter what you think about cryptocurrency in general, it's pretty obvious that there are a bunch of 'altcoins' that have developed simple features that are big upgrades over Bitcoin. There are alts with better transaction speed, smart contract capabiilty, lower fees, etc. Today, Bitcoin has one Unique Selling Point: first mover advantage. We know here that when it comes to what drives the price of butts, hype is first, second, third and fourth on the list. Bitcoin got the first hype and has accumulated hype over the past decade, to the point where Bitcoin's price is basically a referendum on crypto hype as a whole (based on how every alt moves near-identically to Bitcoin). This is known and memed about even among the butters. That's fine for now - but let's say they win. Let's say the wildest dreams of crypto-enthusiasts come true. Bankers BTFO, governments toppled, filthy fiat currency shredded and used for confetti in the streets of every city in the world in celebration of complete adoption of cryptocurrency as the global monetary standard. Why would anybody choose Bitcoin? Bitcoin's USP in our world is that people don't know anything about cryptocurrency, so when they catch the hype virus and enter the space they naturally gravitate to the coin that everybody talks about and has the eye-poppingest price. But we're now hypothesizing a world where every granny and rube in the world is fluent in crypto. Why would the global community shackle themselves to a now-ancient piece of technology? Why wouldn't they use literally anything else? Most likely, something that hasn't even been invented yet? What possible investment thesis involves the impending dominance of cryptocurrency and tells you Bitcoin will moon?
You may be in quarantine, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t! For those who don’t know, every month this subreddit makes a millionaire out of one comment, and donates. With danger out and about, take some time and comment to enter! [Drawing Thread #52]
I thought this year would be a lot more normal.
Introduction: Welcome to anyone and everyone coming from /popular. To be honest, I probably should've expected this, given that most of us are staying home. For those who aren't familiar: every month, we ask for comments for entry, and we pick one who represents our winner. This process is completely random and verifiable, using the Bitcoin blockchain as a sophisticated die. Following this, people then donate to the winner using a variety of mediums, and the winner would go on to be a "millionaire" (arguably, our definition of that term is pretty loose). So once again, thank you for your support. The post lasts for 24 hours before getting locked, so make sure you place your comment before 7 PM ET. In addition, I may make a [Part 2] if we reach the limit. If that happens, I will sticky a comment on this post temporarily. Let's make a millionaire! In Case You Missed It:
REQUIRED: Leave only one (1) top level comment in reply to this thread! (Replying to other comments will not qualify. You must be thirty days old or older to comment.)
A random user who commented will be chosen, and everyone donates a dollar to make a millionaire.
February 19 at 7:00 PM ET (epoch timestamp: 1582153200 (a bit tricky taking DST into consideration, it’s been updated)) is the cutoff for accounts. If you have created your account after this point, you are not eligible to enter and your submission will be disqualified automatically.
March 22 at 12:00 PM ET (epoch timestamp: 1584892800) will begin the process of selecting the winner. At this time, the [Draw] post will be online and start the process of waiting for the blockchain, in order to select the winner randomly and verifiably.
Mini Survey: NOTE: A Google account is required to respond to hinder tampering, but you are not obligated to answer. So I’ve been thinking about this for a while: people are not having pleasant experiences with PayPal. If the account isn’t blocked, then there are issues with fees, fear of the seizure of funds, and the risk of revealing personally identifiable information. However, it is the largest platform used by /MillionaireMakers, and is the provider of most donations on this subreddit. This survey is purely to see how people feel about this. Unless if the winner chooses to not accept PayPal, we will continue to offer this service for tonight’s thread. My questions are: 1) How would you feel about a ban on the PayPal service here on /MillionaireMakers? 2) Would removing PayPal as a service affect your ability to donate? 3) Should /MillionaireMakers remove PayPal? I will periodically post results here. If you are interested in responding, please answer here, answers will not be accepted at the time the [Draw] is posted: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffkP3SKdTi9lLPbtO8taG4_-cdctYlAf8SvohvzoJvTOYdhw/viewform?usp=sf_link Drawing Process Mini-Update: This is as short as they come, leroy627 has made a commit to the repository that adds backwards-compatibility up to Python 3.5. Procedure will be run with the following conditions: the first comment of duplicates are kept for the month of March, and any ineligible comments will be removed. If you are interested in more information, see [Drawing Thread #51]: https://reddit.com/millionairemakers/comments/f7jdxz/alright_were_getting_back_into_the_flow_happy/
Sunday at 12 PM ET (16 UTC), we will be picking our winner, and you won’t want to miss it. The post will be labeled [Draw], and one comment will be selected out of the many made here to make a winner! Remember, this is about generosity, making an impact, and uniting to make someone's life better. It takes three minutes to donate a bit to the winner, whether you're well off and want to donate a couple bucks, or going through tough times and can only donate a few coins. Every cent makes cents, and counts! If a lone $1 can get you a mask for obvious reasons, then imagine the possibilities with $1,000,000. You can get a full-body suit, new doors, and someone to love you! Admittedly, for the wrong reasons, but the option is there. A million dollars can make someone’s suffering less sufferable. Spread the word: have your friends and family comment, post the link to your friendly-neighborhood social media network, and share it to anyone interested.
Let’s make a millionaire!
Why, kind Haiku? Why? Am I to atone in home? Perhaps. I’ll get by.
[WTS] Auction Leftovers #2 (Older/Better World Silver ONLY)
Good morning again! Okay - so Round 1 of "Leftovers" worked out pretty well...found a lot of new homes for coins from my collection. As a result, I'm going to give it a second shot with leftovers from the September 13 Auction. NOTE: I'm also going to incorporate some lessons learned from last time that will hopefully streamline the process. This listing is for items that did not sell during the September 13 Auction (most likely due to BP/fees) - so you can buy anything you want right here and right now - no buyer's premiums, no additional fees - JUST DISCOUNTS: *All the World Silver is 10% off the listed price. *FREE shipping for any order over $100. *NUCLEAR OPTION: Buy everything that remains for 15% off listed asking price. Each lot was individually imaged (front and back) for the auction - so the easiest way for you to see exactly what you're buying is to visit the auction link (the auction is over, so I'm not advertising anything different or advertising an upcoming auction) - so here that is: https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-catalog/Coins-US,-Foreign-,-Rare,-Graded,-Type,-Jewelry,-More-2_PD4EXTCK7K/ Here is the required "prove you still have the stuff" photo with the username card and today's date (I pulled the first five items out of the storage trays so you weren't just seeing the tops of bags): PHOTO Payment: PayPal. I do not have Venmo/Zello/Bitcoin or any other form of digital payment at this time. No notes if using PPFF, please. Thank you. Shipping: I will charge you what it costs me for the USPS label rounded up to the nearest dollar. For First Class that is usually $4, for USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Small Box it will be $9. I will get you a tracking number right after payment is received and will get your package scanned into the USPS system within 24 hours of receipt of payment. I will offer "Risky Shipping" (via stamped greeting card)at my discretionfor $1 - for single, small coins ONLY. What do YOU need to do to buy coins from this group: send me a list of which lots you want (for example, I want to buy lots # 51, 52, 53, 54, 55) and I will send you a total. There are too many coins here (plus there are duplicates) so I cannot look up the coins you want by description - just give me lot numbers and it will be much simpler. I'd like to make a simple and polite request - if I have sent you my PayPal information (meaning we've agreed to a deal) please finish it up as soon as you can so I can check you off the list and move on to the next person. This helps make sure you get all the coins we discussed and no one else is in limbo. I will do my absolute best to update the ad as soon as lots sell. Good evening my fellow degenerates. Two years ago there was a sportsbook survey that I stumbled upon. You can find the results Here . I think these results gave a decent idea of the users here, and I figured it'd be good to get an update on that. If you would like to fill out the survey, the link is Here Last time there were 500 respondents, so if we can get to that number, that'd be sick. This is my first survey I've ever created, so if there's any issues, feel free to let me know. Also, please do upvote this for my karma so this stays relevant for sportsbook . I will share the results at the end of this week, just in time for Sunday football :) EDIT: So I've made a few edits. In order to see the nice data sets, you can't have it as short answer. Otherwise, it's a wall of text to sift through. I can make it a piechart into google forms, but even then, due to the uniqueness of answers, it's a wide array of colors. I still have all the individual answers shown, but it's about 30 differnet colors in one chart. Instead, I've made it another multiple choice, with the top answers being the first four choices & then the option of other. So, without further ado, here are your finalists. For the sports team / player that gives most grief this gives us : Rockets (by a wide margin lol), Cowboys, Clippers, & 76ers. (Flyers, Arsenal, Titans, Colts, Falcons, Islanders all have 3) For the Capper question : We have Bob, Chasingpayments, YBK, Sidekick, Myself, and None. For the Sportsbook question: Bovada, Draftkings, Fanduel, Personal bookie, bet365 I still have the array of colors, but hopefully this makes it look a little cleaner. Regardless, you can still see the individual answers if you hover over the graph. As of right now, we are currently sitting at 1000 responses! This community has truly grown. Some of my favorite answers are : Meat popsicle for gender, Jarrett Culver not staying home for grief, and Jameis Winston & has bad eye sight. Lastly, I will also give the spreadsheet that I exported it to so we can all view. Thanks again for everyone's participation One last edit : As per the 36 responses, here is the link to my bitcoin wallet Here
MW Wyco Wednesday is BACK and Better Than Ever After a Long(er than anticipated) Break! First 20 Orders and Orders Ending in 1, 0 or 7 on 10/7 Get Something Special with Their Order! www.millywyco.com Stickers=12mL Syringes MillyWyco is NOT Willy Myco :) (see below) Any mention of cultivation or anything unrelated to microscopy will not receive a response and orders will be cancelled. This includes DM's, PM's, e-mails, notes with your transaction, feedback of any kind, and thoughts. Don't even think about it! (I'm a mind reader) Wowowowow! I am in complete awe over the support and love I received during that much needed break. It was needed maybe a bit more than I even knew, and at so many moments during that break, I could literally feel the positive energy coming at me from all sides of this community. I struggled for a couple weeks before the break, going back and forth on whether or not to take a breather, but all of that anxiety went away hearing from all of you about how crucial it is to take time for self-reflection and balance. Mission 100% accomplished. I cannot thank you all enough for giving me this opportunity to live my absolute dream and passion for getting people into this hobby. Ya'll seriously keep me going and I can only help the feeling is mutual. I'll be writing in a separate post about the highs (and lows) of the journey this past month for any who care to escape from their own reality a bit and step into such a fulfilling adventure with my experiences. I encourage you all to chime in with your own ups, downs and sideways ventures as well! We're all in this together :) To ensure quality specimens and packaging, and due to the onslaught of orders on Wednesdays, all orders placed on Wednesday will be shipped on Thursday and Friday of that week (ALL Priority Mail and subscription box orders will ship on Thursday). You will receive an email notification with a tracking link when your order ships. I appreciate your patience so hard! Also, when I say "Priority Mail", this is referring to USPS Priority Mail vs. the standard "First Class" mail. All of my orders get my absolute highest priority care and attention, regardless of shipping method. USPS Priority Mail costs me $8, while I only pass on $5 of that to your order...it does not benefit me in any way if you choose this option, I just know those orders need to get to you ASAP, so I make sure to get all of these out on Thursday, with as many standard shipping orders as well. Sometimes it is not humanly possible to get every order from Wednesday out on Thursday, and some ship Friday morning. Thank you for your patience and continued support!! The first 20 orders placed after this post (Order #14432-14451) will receive something special with their order! I am giving away a couple super cool tapestries, a few books that can benefit everyone in this community, a few hand-made fabric mushroom masks, and some resin crafts, as well as unlisted variety syringes! Quantities of the special items are very limited, so requests cannot be guaranteed, but if you would prefer one of the items mentioned above over another, please add a note with your transaction and I will do my best to make it happen! ALSO...in addition to the first 20 promo, any order number ending in 1, 0 or 7 on 10/7 only will also get a free unlisted variety! If you are in the first 20, and your order number ends in 1, 0, or 7, you get both! If your order number ends in 07 (#14507, 14607, etc.) the week of 10/7 only, I will be in contact to arrange your special gift. Either you can have a double order (you ordered 5, I'll ask which other 5 you'd like...if you ordered 10, you'll get 20, etc), or you can choose to make that order free, (refunded if already paid) totally up to you! This week, I have restocked a few favorites, including Golden Teacher, B+, PE6, Alacabenzi, Albino A+, KSSS, Blue Meanie, Z-Strain, Mazatapec, Jedi Mind Fuck, McKennaii, Tasmanian, Rusty Whyte, Fiji, Columbian Rust and a few others! New additions to the family this week include Acadian Coast (from southern Louisiana), NorMel (Isolate of MelMak with reverted cap shape), and White Teacher (Leucistic Golden Teacher variety, APE/GT hybrid taking the characteristics of GT lacking pigment) Thank you so much to everyone who has subscribed to a subscription box! Each and every month, these boxes will get better and better :) Newsletters will go out on the first of each month, regardless of when your plan is set to renew. In these newsletters will also be the winner of the random equipment raffle for MASTER PLAN members! This could be a sterilization wand, dehydrator, magnetic stir plate, or other super duper helpful tools in the hobby. Last month, 3 lucky Master Box subscribers received a pressure cooker, UV-C light sterilization wand, and a dehydrator! PLEASE USE COUPON CODES if ordering on the site for discounts!! Please see below: 2PACK - $20 for two cubensis syringes 5PACK - Classic and most popular $30 dealio for 5 cubensis varieties. Please add an additional $5 to any order if you prefer USPS Priority Mail shipping. 1 syringe for $15 2 syringes for $20 5 syringes for $30 Golden Teacher (LIMITED TO 2 PER ORDER!) Acadian Coast Ajax Alacabenzi Albino A+ Amazonian B+ (Be Positive) Blue Meanie Burma Columbian Rust Corumba Brazil Costa Rican Daddy Long Legs Ecuadorian Fiji Golden Mammoth Golden Teacher Huautla Jedi Mind Fuck Koh Samui Super Strain (KSSS) Lake Toba (Sumatra, Indonesia) Lizard King Mazatapec McKennaii Mexican NorMel PES Amazon PES Hawaiian Rusty Whyte Taman Negara Tasmanian White Teacher Wollongong Z-Strain THE FOLLOWING EXOTICS ARE NOT PART OF THE 5/$30 MIX-n-MATCH DEALIO, but can be added to the 5/$30 pack for $10 as an add-on, or $15 each by themselves. These are NOT cubensis, and NOT recommended for beginners. USE COUPON CODE "NEEDMORE" on the site to add ONE EXOTIC on to a 5 pack. Want 2 Exotics? Use code NEEDMORE2 or NEEDMORE3 for 3, etc. Currently this is setup to add a maximum of 5 exotics....if you need more, please message me and I'll create a unique coupon code to enter for your order :) ****Penis Envy #6 (PE6)***\* This actually IS a cubensis variety, but added to exotics list due to rarity and popularity. NOT part of the pick 5. ****Gymnopilus Spectabilis***\* ****Psilocybe Allenii***\* ****Psilocybe Azurescens***\* ****Psilocybe Cyanescens***\* ****Psilocybe Mexicana Galindoi***\* ****Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata***\* ****Psilocybe Serbica***\* ****Psilocybe Subaeruginosa***\* ****Panaeolus Bisporus***\* ****Panaeolus Cyanescens (Australia)***\* All syringes are 12cc/mL and come capped with a sterile tip cap, and also include an 18ga 1.5" sterile needle and alcohol pads. Syringes are made in a lab grade environment and the utmost care and attention is the highest priority to be sure they are sterile. Anything exposed to an open air environment is subject to contamination, but I take every precaution possible to minimize this risk. I cannot "guarantee" they are 100% sterile, but I can guarantee that if you have an issue, I will make it right. I really do love to help, and if something happens, I'd like to know about it so I can fix the issue instead of you getting frustrated or giving up! To ensure equal quantity of spores in each syringe, and for adequate suspension of the spores in the solution, I use a magnetic stir plate. Very often, this does such a good job of breaking up clumps of spores that it will appear to be sparse. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE! There are still a TON of spores in each syringe, even if you can't see them individually (though most of my syringes appear to have a very good amount of visible spores...even with my horrible eyesight!). You can compare and contrast to see the blackish/purple tint to ensure every syringe is packed with spores. If a spore clump forms during transportation, simply give it a good flick with your finger and vigorously shake to break it up or free it from clinging to the wall of the syringe before examining. Syringes ship in individual bags clearly labeled as to specific variety and born on date, bubble wrapped and shipped through USPS tracked shipping (discreet) within 24 hours of payment. I send tracking info soon after payment and give updates along the (super quick) way. Any messages referring to spores being used for anything other than microscopy use will be ignored. Don't do it. THANK YOU ALL so much again for your continued support!! I appreciate it more than you know! MUSH LOVE P.S. In no way am I trying to be an impostor. I AM NOT WILLY MYCO. I chose this u/ a while back as sort of a play on words and tribute to a legend most of us recognize, long before I became a spore vendor. I don't want anyone to think I am trying to pass off as him, though I do admire his dedication to the craft! I appreciate all of the kind words, though, from people saying they learned from "my" videos. I wish I could pass on those notes to Willy himself. Cheers and MUSH LOVE! MW
Good morning! I'm trying something new today - so let's see how this goes. (If it works, I'll do it again. It it doesn't, I won't waste anyone's time with it next time because it's a LOT of work.) What we have here are the leftovers from yesterday's auction. I have heard from a few people that the buyer's premium and other fees the auctioneer adds on (so he can make money and pay for the auctions) are too high - so I'm offering them all here for sale individually. No buyer's premiums. No additional fees. In fact, I'M OFFERING DISCOUNTS: *All the World Silver is 10% off the listed price. *All the World Non-Silver marked $1.00 are now $.75 each. *FREE shipping for any order over $100. Each lot was individually imaged (front and back) for the auction - so the easiest way for you to see exactly what you're buying is to visit the auction link (the auction is over, so I'm not advertising anything different or advertising an upcoming auction) - so here that is: https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-catalog/Coins-US,-Foreign-,-Rare,-Graded,-Type,-Jewelry,-More-3_Q37IBJZ4W1/?page=0&searchWithAll=&size=200&sort= Here is the required "prove you still have the stuff" photo with the username card and today's date (I pulled the first five items out of the storage trays so you weren't just seeing the tops of bags): PHOTO Payment: PayPal. I do not have Venmo/Zello/Bitcoin or any other form of digital payment at this time. What do YOU need to do to buy coins from this group: send me a list of which lots you want (for example, I want to buy lots # 51, 52, 53, 54, 55) and I will send you a total. I will do my absolute best to update the ad as soon as lots sell.
