LN is a whole lot of obfuscation and hocus pocus to accomplish in an overly complex way what bitcoin can do on-chain and at scale, as proven by tests with larger blocks.

Before you reply in defense of how great LN is, there’s one proof of why it’s non-optimum: it is attempting to be forced onto users. Scaling on-chain was not allowed, and thus attempting to force this layer 2 “solution”.
Let me ask you: why wasn’t it allowed to be an option for scaling, and also do some modest blocksize increases?
Answer: Because someone doesn’t like the fact that Bitcoin had been working perfectly for 8 years.
Perhaps someone just didn’t like Bitcoin.

So if the only thing driving the processing of information with the block chain is mining. What happens when there is no more bitcoin to mine and there is no longer an incentive to process the information?

At what block number is s2x forking the bitcoin chain at?

Also, once it reaches that block, am I free to move my BTC away without worrying about missing out on the s2x coins or do I have to wait until the block after that?
Thank you!

PSA: if you are confused about what the real Bitcoin is just use an old Bitcoin client and see which chain it verifies and which blocks it refuses to accept!

There are a lot of scams out there trying to convince newbies that "Bitcoin xyz is the real Bitcoin". The scammers usually claim that somehow their altcoin is "much nearer to the original" than Bitcoin itself.
Fortunately Bitcoin is built in a way so that your client always knows what the real Bitcoin is. Your client relies on math and cannot be fooled by propaganda. So just start up a Bitcoin client from the early days (0.5 or whatever) and it will tell you exactly which chain is the real Bitcoin chain and which chain is an altcoin that forked away from the original Bitcoin.
That easy.

If bitcoin follows the block chain with the most work then what is the problem?

I always hear that BU has the most hash rate which would mean that given enough time thus block chain would have the most work. By definition the BU bitcoin would be the "real" bitcoin.
What is the issue? To my understanding anyone can alter the code but it is up to the miners to accept the changes or not. Whatever the changes are, the real bitcoin would the the chain that has most mining work.
Worst case scenario is that one block chain would be equivalent of ETC while other would be ETH.
Am I missing something here?

I know this is probably asked often, but I couldn't find info in the FAQ. What do you think is the best way to transfer PayPal funds into bitcoin for Block Chain?

I want to put $10 in BTC to see how it ends up, but Block Chain's FAQ page and youtube videos all have features not present on my page, there's no 'Buy' option for me lol
Just curious if I'm missing something obvious, or if I need to buy bitcoin through another website, and transfer that to my Block Chain
sorry for the stupid question : /

Legit question: What is the inherent value of bitcoin over any other block-chain based coin? Since it holds no patents or exclusivity to the block-chain tech.

With the rise of ICOs and huge movements of coins prices, it seems to me that these coins are just taking advantage of the hype, am I wrong, and how? Very open to counter-arguments.
