Thinking about selling some crypto. Need an accountant to figure out how much tax to pay. I have had the crypto for more than 1 year. But I don't have the original receipt. Instead, I have the private keys. I'm wondering if I can show that I had the crypto for more than a year by showing control over the private keys.
Would anyone be able to recommend an accountant for tax advice on bitcoin trading profits? I reached out to a few accountants but they all replied that they do not offer services to anyone working in the bitcoin space. I also tried Nowell Associates, who were recommended before on this subreddit, but they no longer advise on bitcoin.
Bitcoin Accountant here again to answer any questions you may have on the accounting side of bitcoin.
I'm back. Right now we are in a holiday lull, so I have a bunch of idle time to answer any of your questions that you guys may have. I live in the United States and work in the ACS (Accountant consulting) department for my firm. Same as last time: Anything I write is not to be construed as advice, but just information. If you want advice, please seek a local, qualified professional. Feel free to bring what I write here to help your accountant understand and make the decision that is right for you.
My girlfriend is doing her Masters in Accounting, and she wants to know how she can prepare herself to be a better Bitcoin accountant.
As Bitcoin is only 5 years old and I am assuming lot of people have already gotten really rich with it. My girl-friend is wondering if she can profit out of this by using her skills as an accountant. Will she be able to make her self an expert in doing accounting in Bitcoin in a very short time? (first two things that are important that comes to mind are regulatory and compliance of Bitcoin in USA). Any and all suggestions from you guys are helpful!

Hey guys, With the recent surge in prices can we discuss what's a good way to know if you've got an accountant that is worthwhile and understand bitcoin? Are there accountants here that would render services in exchange for bitcoin?
I've been looking for an accountant but they've all reject me because they don't know a thing about Bitcoin. Is there anyone in Toronto or near Toronto that actually knows about Bitcoin and has experience dealing with accounting for Bitcoin based businesses?
Hello, in 2012 I was very dumb and put 100 dollars into a bitcoin account. I used about 70 of it and left 30 and presumably it is still there. Unfortunately, I did not write my password down. I have the wallet id and an encrypted wallet backup. Is there any chance of gaining access to my account?

At the beginning of the cryptocurrency boom, Bitcoin seemed to be the unquestioned leader. Up until early this year, Bitcoin accounted for the vast majority of the industry’s market capitalization; then, in a span of just weeks, Ethereum, Ripple, and other currencies rushed to catch up. While Bitcoi
I don't use bitcoin, but is it possible to take my standard money, convert it to bitcoin on a bitcoin account and buy things online with bitcoin, then exchange unused bitcoin back into my regular currency?
How can I access my deceased brothers bitcoin account?
My [35m] older brother past away a few months ago. I know that he traded bitcoin. I have access to his computer but not any of his passwords. Is there any suggestions on how to access/who to contact/ how to sell it off? Thanks
Recently been told I can have two Bitcoin accounts on my Ledger Wallet.. Would like two Native Segwit accounts. Can anybody suggest how to do that? Thanks!
It’s only letting me install the BTC app once and when trying to open a second BTC account in the BTC app on the Ledger Live app for the Mac, it seems to be showing ‘Segwit’ for the 2nd account. I have heard though Native Segwit is better, faster and cheaper for transactions. So just wandering how to get 2 Native Segwit accounts. Or is this not possible? If it’s not possible. Is it perfectly fine to have one of each of the different types? Is there anything I need to know extra or is everything else the same, by having one account of each type? And FINALLY. Which one would be the best to use for BTC that isn’t really going to be touched. And which one is better for adding regular amounts of BTC into... Thanks guys!! Getting there!!
